New Pods

My cousin, Phil (a fellow OmniPod user), just sent me an update. New pods coming soon!

I am excited about this. I am actually more excited about the updated PDM. Hopefully it won’t look like a cell phone from 1999. I’ll also appreciate the smaller pods. Hopefully they’re…flatter. I have come to like wearing the pods on my arms, but they sure look funny when I wear sweaters with tighter fitting sleeves. I get more questions about the pods when they’re under a tight sleeve than I do when they’re in plain sight.

In other news, I’m allergic to Nico. Oh, well. Isn’t going to change anything. I’m still going to end up knee-deep in dachshunds. It’s just written in my stars.

  1. This article has some pictures of the new pods. They will mostly be shorter front-to-back and skinnier top-to-bottom. Unfortunately from what I’ve been able to dig up, the PDM will look exactly the same, which is a big disappointment. I don’t know why they can’t take some design cues from Apple, Google, or pretty much anybody in the consumer electronics industry and design something that’s genuinely sleek and not at all embarrassing to be using in public. Oh well, not a big deal, we’re still living in the future either way.

  2. From the pictures I’ve seen, there appears to be a small, clear, square window in the top of the pod, maybe just a few millimeters square. When the cannula has been inserted successfully, a little pink insert appears in this window.
